He tweeted that, yes, this is in fact on Mem Drive, heading onto Edwin H Land blvd.

Don't know how I missed his update (since he @'ed me), but I've fixed the post.

the backup lights on both trucks are on. So, at least the drivers realized the error of their ways.

Now if the DCR would only take the time and effort to put up proper (i.e. MUTCD-compliant) advance warning signs BEFORE the ramp that overheight vehicles need to get off at.

Does anyone know if companies such as Ryder ever tell people renting their vehicles that they will hit things if they go on certain roads? That might help.

(I know some are folks coming from out of state, and it can't be expected that some guy in, say, Poughkeepsie will have such knowledge to impart.)

"Neither our or your insurance covers damage from driving on Storrow or Memorial Drive"

What gets me is every time I see a truck on these roads, I pull along side and guide them off. Of course the best part is the people who beep at me for blocking the lane while I'm trying to get the truck driver's attention. Of course they don't think about the wait they'd have if that truck hit something!

...the rental agent in CT was adamant that I avoid Memorial and Storrow and made it clear that it would be the end times if I ignored their advice.
