Sports bar seeks to fill South Station booze void

The Tavern in the Square chain wants to set up shop in South Station, where thirsty commuters have had to content themselves with soft drinks and yogurt-based concoctions ever since Clarke's closed to make way for another drugstore.
Tavern in the Square goes before the Boston Licensing Board on July 31 for permission to buy a liquor license from United Airline's lounge in Terminal C at Logan Airport (don't fret, liquor-mad United fliers - this probably has to do with the new liquor licenses the state assigned to Logan, not United shutting you off).
Tavern in the Square is also seeking permission to stay open until 2 a.m.

2am? Does this mean they will rescind the ridiculous recent rule where they close south station at 1am- before the end of train service?
It sued to be 24/7.
Keep it open until 4am
and let all the Yups and Hips go down there to drink. Keep the drunks out of the neighborhoods.
Where exactly will this go?
and what is there now?

2 possibilities: 1) The pharmacy deal went sour and it'll go where Clarke's was, or 2) I heard they want to try and put a bar in the lobby, in place of the closing bookstore.
The former bookstore is a tiny kiosk
and not any place where a Tavern in the Square, with its associated TVs, could reasonably go.
Yes!
And can the MBTA run buses out of South Station at 2:15 to...
- Salem and Beverly via a combination of the 459 and 451
- Waltham and Riverside via a combination of the 57, 70 (breifly), and the 558
- Quincy and Hingham via a combination of the 18, 210, and 220
Buses would only run past Salem, Waltham, or Quincy only if there were still passengers (no pickups allowed along the route beyond those points).
Our transit hub (South Station) is a bit sad... and there's virtually zero MBTA options after bars are out. Come on, this would be a four-run grand slam. Hell, it'd be a five-run if that made any sense/was possible.
Charge an "outer express" fare. Guarantee you'll be running an easy profit, every day of the week.

This is a desolate area at night I would love to see a bar there open until 2. The question is, which nieghborhood group claims that a bar there will lead to something bad.
