It was touch and go at the Glass Slipper
Two "entertainers" at the LaGrange Street strip club were ordered to go home on Sept. 25 after a manager found them touching a couple of patrons in a private-dance room, right under "NO TOUCHING" signs.
Unfortunately for the club, the manager wasn't the only one to see the illegal contact - two Boston Police detectives on a routine inspection also observed the conduct. They wrote a citation for "physical contact between dancers and male patrons in violation of the Boston Licensing Rules and Regulations 1.12(C) (D) and (F)."
At a Boston Licensing Board hearing this morning, the detectives did not specify just how in flagrante the delicto was. A city ordinance and the club's own rules specify dancers must stay at least three feet away from the clientele - even the sort of clientele who had paid $30 extra for "private" dances in the semi-enclosed portion of the main floor where the touchy-feeliness happened.
Nicholas Romano, co-owner of the Glass Slipper, said the club has a "floor man" who is supposed to watch over the room to make sure no hanky panky happens. Unfortunately, he needed to use the facilities and in the few moments he was gone, all mini hell broke loose, Romano allowed.
Romano said neither of the dancers, one from Roxbury and one from Vermont, had ever been in trouble before. In addition to them being sent home for the night, the floor man was given a warning, Romano said.
The board decides Thursday what action, if any, to take against the Glass Slipper.

No Touching!
Damn!
Beat me to it!
Second Only To Murder
We can all sleep a little easier tonight, knowing the Boston Police are protecting the city from such criminal behavior. This type of enforcement is surely a duty no police officer would ever want to be assigned; yet, merely two detectives sounds woefully inadequate. Hopefully, the new mayor will get tough on crime and make sure more resources are devoted to stop people touching one another in Boston!
Unions, man
Why pursue anything more winding than the path of least resistance when you know you can't get fired anyway? Like, I don't blame any person for not taking the "I might get shot at" police work, but in my book, that would mean "we don't need that many employees."
Vote union again. Seriously, great 38% turnout last week, you pieces of crap. Maybe voting should be done via a number you call when it pops up during TMZ.
3 feet?
Does the floor manager carry a yardstick to make sure dancers keep their distance from male patrons?
Why do they use cops?
Can't retired High School principals and vice principals do this job a lot better? I mean, they have years of experience!
MA strip clubs stink
It's worth the drive to Providence ;)
indeed..
2nded. This is why I'll never go into these places. Gross women, expensive everything and NO CONTACT. See ya in providence.
Glass Sleazy
I'm not a connoisseur of such things, but I've attended a few bachelor parties over the years. The most recent one ended up at the glass slipper. That place was awful. I wouldn't go back there if the drinks were free.
With the opening of the
With the opening of the luxury apartment building on the corner of LaGrange/Washington and the construction of the new Avalon apartment building on the parking lot behind Jacob Wirth, I think it's safe to say we will see an uptick in these types of police enforcement actions. If I were the owner of the Glass Slipper/Centerfolds, I would make sure I have a back-up "floor man" to mind the store while the primary is using the facilities.
With all the new construction
With all the new construction going on around the club its on borrowed time, sooner or later itll be closed down
Exactly(kinda)
"Vote union again. Seriously, great 38% turnout last week, you pieces of crap. Maybe voting should be done via a number you call when it pops up during TMZ." Will LaTulippe you are an angry name caller,I am too,who I totally agree with....kinda. I voted union. I know, I liked his politics and figured him to be the lesser evil of the two.
At least you voted
My contempt for people who didn't vote Connolly < my contempt for people who didn't vote
I can't make that "less than" sign big enough.
