I'm sorry to hear about Henry. I've seen signs up on telephone poles from Waltham to Framingham for the last two weeks when I drive to and from work. It was pretty clear that someone really cared about him.

Its very very sad, I feel real bad that Henry had died in that way. Thats a terribly painful way to pass. It brought tears to my eyes. But my reaction is not what you think it would be. I use to be a volunteer at the Boston MSPCA. Seeing what owners do to their pets just by not paying attention. Dogs are like little kids. They need to watched. So many owners let their dogs run out on the ice on lakes and they fall through. This is just another case of no common sense. a pool is a danger. Most people with common sense drain them. And lock them down. I know some of you will get pissed at what I am about to say. I don't care and its the dam truth. Henry's caretaker was unfit. She gets no pity from me.

1.don't leave your pet outside when it is winter unattended. Dogs and cats can get frost bite. They also can be killed by local wildlife.
2. Should have drained the stupid pool, thank Goodness no ones child wandered over there and fell in. In some places this is mandated by law. As it should.

Common sense goes a long way, People should use their brains. The worst form of neglect is not being informed when it comes to your pets. It kills me when I see dogs chained to trees in the middle of the winter. its just as bad as keeping you pet in a car in the middle of the summer. With the windows up. When I take my dog out I watch him, and when he does his thing, I bring him right back in. where its warm
