I'm scared of this violence in Cambridge
By John Costello

Are all parts of Cambridge dangerous, or is it just certain sections? I've heard there are good parts and some parts, but the media doesn't make it clear.
Cambridge is quite safe.

Cant think of anywhere in Cambridge I would consider worrisome and this stabbing is in a particularly nice area.
Is this a joke?
This is sarcasm, referencing the recent warnings to tourists

The comment is referencing the recent brouhaha regarding foreign consulates issuing warnings to tourists about certain parts of Boston being dangerous.
well played

How do you survive your day to day life if this one attack, which seems unrelated to anything, scares you that much?
Very scary place

Foreign ministries should consider advising people to avoid Cambridge as much as possible. In fact, the goddam United State of America should issue a warning.
Oh, come on!!

Most stabbings, assaults, homicides and other violent crimes take place between people who know each other and have some sort of vendetta(s) going on between them.
Being careful when and where you walk, particularly during the nighttime hours would be a better, more sensible warning, if any, to issue to people.
Subtle whooshing going on here

Miki,
It was a comment about all of the warnings by France, Japan and other countries to stay out of Dorchester.
Avoid for the traffic, not crime

I'm sure more time is lost cumulatively by people stuck in Cambridge traffic congestion than in hospitals being treated for violent crimes. Area communities that used to take patients to Mt. Auburn ER now seem to avoid it due to the traffic congestion and resulting risk to patients being transported.

Um, cite?
Also, that horse is dead.
You're comparing being stuck in traffic with...being murdered?

Let me explain my comment to you. There was reference to warnings from France and Japan on dangerous neighborhoods to avoid. My comment suggests that violence is an infrequent occurrence in Cambridge, unlike traffic congestion not helped by City planning roadway changes.

It's worth noting* that this took place around the corner from the River Street Whole Foods. It's also worth noting** that Whole Foods has not yet denied that the homicide was induced by the (alleged) murderer going into shock when she tried to buy a bottle of juice and was charged $34.
*No, it's not
*It's really really not
This doesn't sound like a random attack

This sounds like it was a personal attack.
In other words it has nothing to do with any other person's risk of random crime.
Aren't there some bakeries
By Freddy Benson

Aren't there some bakeries and coffee shops in that area? I know waiting in line can make some of the more unbalanced and liberal nutjobs in the Cambridge area go off the rails...maybe that low foam latte with too much foam did it.
Or, who knows. Go back to your donut, you fat tub.
