You know what Jesus would do

So there's this church on College Avenue in Somerville (quick, which one?) that rarely shovels. Somebody taped a thesis to the door.

Leviticus 19:14
Old testament, I know, but I think snow and ice qualify.
That looks like the French
That looks like the French-language (I assume from the French signs) Seventh Day Adventist church on the corner of College and Morrison.
That Mission Church also does
That Mission Church also does a generally lackluster job of snow removal after most storms- both feet went out from me trying to traverse their snow/ ice covered sidewalk last year
Hmmm.
"Now therefore, you are cursed, and you shall never cease being slaves, both hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God."
Joshua 9:23
And furthermore,
We theses to doors, do we not?
God put it there. God will
God put it there. God will take it way.
I'd like to imagine that if
I'd like to imagine that if Jesus had lived in Boston he would have waved his hands and made all the snow go away. Healing? Screw that!
There's a joke to be made about space savers here, but I'm not feeling it.
WWMD?
What would Moses do? Part the white sea?
.
.
A lot of people in biblical times apparently were assholes
I mean, really, WTF? They needed someone to tell them that? Douchebags.
There is a city that doesn't shovel its properties either
I shovel the walkway in front of a local park. As far as I can tell, if I don't do it it doesn't get done.
Odd thing is it has a friends organization.
Reminds me
of a property on Sumner Street that never shovels. They have a PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN bumper sticker on the door and every time there's a storm I'm tempted to add another that says "How about being proud of shoveling your sidewalk?"
Perhaps the bumper sticker should read
PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN WHO DOESN'T LET THE GOVERNMENT EXTORT FREE LABOR FROM ME" (i.e the sidewalk abutting my property is the GOVERNMENT's propertly, not mine)
Well, let's see
Yoshke would be about 2000 years old now, so just barely old enough to serve on my synagogue's board. He'd probably complain that there are no young families in the shul, so it's really their fault because the building maintenance fund is empty (despite having voted to fund new carpeting on the bima just three years ago, even though the only problem with the old carpet was it was a weird shade of green). If only we could get a dynamic young rabbi in who would somehow engage young families while simultaneously keeping everything the same way it's been since the Eisenhower administration.
Sorry, what were we talking about?
