Lori Magno reports that, as a kind, caring Bostonian, she would have tucked in this woman's tag yesterday - if only the woman weren't smoking, creating a wall of stink that overrode Magno's Samaritan instincts.

I think the fact that she's wearing the tank top on the outside of a long-sleeved shirt is ridiculous enough.

She's smokin' all right! I could get past the tag, and the smoking with a body like that. Typical catty talk.

You mean, am I a stinking drunk, loudmouth "Do you know who the fuck I am" woman? That would be a no.

If she wasn't smoking, you would have helped her. But since she was smoking, you decide to take a pic and put it on your blog? "A wall of stink?" Samaritan instincts?
Lori doesn't come across very well in this post, IMO. A bit full of herself, maybe?

It's a public service announcement about the dangers of smoking.

yeah, what a HUGE service she was going to offer her.
One of the reaons I enjoy smoking in the city is so that people WILL leave me alone. Every once in a while I get a self-righteous twit that makes comments.
...like the smell of old urine, harbage, alcohol and cologne that fill Boston's air is any better.

I know what you mean, Liz. I can't stand the smell of harbage, either. The city should do something about all the harbage on the streets. I mean, I'm a smoker, too, and that stuff makes me want to puke!

Or, now that I think of it, maybe the city could pick it up with the usual hubbish collections?

That's one internet demerit for making a crack about a typo. It doesn't quite reach the "Nazi/Hitler" threshold, but it is embarrassing. Now promise you won't do it again, and we'll forget it ever happened.

I've had my fingers slip enough times to know better than to really rag someone for that sort of typo. I just figured it was a fun sort of typo to run with - maybe some of the more inventive wits here might have actually defined "harbage"; where it's most prevalent in the city; etc. However, you've gone and drained the jollity out of it for everyone. Nazi!

(Hunkin Honuts, natch!)
I say no demerits! To the contrary, merit for noticing a perfect unintended coinage. As Michael notes, that's a good new word, easy to define and understand. The language is richer for it.
Welcome to English, harbage!
