"Nobody in the press noticed that we had Maroon 5 at our restaurant, so I'm drumming it up from my blog for PR. And, like, I used to date a rock star! And it was their success that killed our relationship. I exist on a higher plane, keeping me from feeling used."
That might make more sense if she never wrote about working at Toro or about her ex, but she's been writing about both for quite some time now (well, Toro, at least, I'm not that obsessive that I remember the details of her love-life blogging, although I do recall this isn't the first mention of him).
Seriously, Brett. If I were a star-f***er, don't you think I'd have pimped this relationship out to increase blog readership before?
Chornicling the demise of my engagement to the Ex would require a blog of it's very own, that's why he doesn't appear on Undercover Blonde that much. You can check out this post for more details about our ugly, disastrous break-up. Or look for more info on it in the book length version of Undercover Blonde, once that's published.
Were people really recognizing this guy all on their own? Was he wearing a shirt that said "Guitarist from Maroon 5" or something? I don't know how anyone could pick up on it otherwise.
Maybe I need to pay closer attention. Maybe my dentist is the bassist from Third Eye Blind.... Is this the drummer of Sugar Ray scooping my ice cream??
I agree Im in my twenties and actually work in a field that involves being up to date on local happenings and pop culture. There are way too many bands out there for anyone to keep track of. Maybe one person recognized them? Even more likely is one of the wait staff heard he was coming in and someone(s) overheard them. I see that alot, and have even seen "fake" celeb sitings due miscommunication.
As for celeb starved, we dont have tons of celebrities but theres enough of them around if you know the right people, they just tend not to be super famous celebs like Tom Cruise and Paris Hilton. Especially with all the movies being filmed in Boston over the past few years there has been a spike of local sitings.

Work on your reading comprehension. Her ex isn't in the band, he just knows the guitarist.

Maroon 5 at Bistro 5?
And why do I think "grass clipping salad" when I think "Toro"?

It'd actually be "Grass Clippings wrapped in Freshly Raked Leaves and served with Prickly Bush Berries Dipping Sauce."

This is obviously a slow news day feed. Keep an eye out for the spellbinding "I poured Neil Diamond a glass of water at Rubin's" later this summer.
