Three workers installing insulation at 109 Carolina Ave. in Jamaica Plain were injured when a fire erupted around 9:25 a.m. in a basement crawlspace. Initial reports were that a water heater exploded.
The Boston Fire Department reports two of the workers were burned. A firefighter responding to the scene was taken to the hospital with chest pains.
The department estimates damage at $100,000.
