Transit Police say they are not amused by a kid's antics atop a hurtling Orange Line train yesterday morning. A spokesman says police are now on the lookout for him.
The kid, who goes by Jonathan Stay Wavey, posted the video showing him climbing atop the roof of an inbound Orange Line train somewhere in Jamaica Plain or Roxbury. It shows him avoiding a Darwin Award just before the train goes under a bridge and then doing a handstand on the roof before climbing back inside. The video, which he posted on a publicly accessible Facebook page, concludes with shots of some of his pals.

I noticed the blunt rolling too. After these incidents we should probably think about getting a police force that is dedicated just to public transportation in the city.

Or even better, let's not staff the one we have with the worst ratio of cops:riders in the country.

having a surveillance system that's actually monitored in real time, instead of the Transit Police's apparent "we use it only to get evidence against people, should we actually find a suspect three or four months after the alleged crime has been committed" policy.
And, yes, having police officers actually located in the stations and on the platforms (instead of in cruisers and at "substations' would go a long way to helping as well.

Rolling a blunt isn't a crime anymore. Remember? Pot was decriminalized a few years ago to a ticket-able offense. While it's stupid to do on a train, most cops these days won't even bother with the ticket due to the massive amount of paperwork that is involved in said ticket. Most wont bother you unless you are doing something else (i.e. in a car driving, etc)
The T cops have gone on record (there's a post on here about) that they won't bug you unless you're smoking it on the subway.
On a different note, wasn't the Orange Line suppose to get cameras in all cars at some point? Some already do but not all.
Blunts/ joints on the T

I take the 35, 36 or 37 every day from Forest Hills to Roslindale. There are a couple of kids who get off at one of the stops before the square who spend their bus time rolling joints, on their laps and in full view of anyone on the bus. They make no effort to hide the activity. Even though they may have less than an ounce, they are quite skilled at rolling as many joints as they can in the short amount of time they spend on the bus.
They may be smoking them all themselves, but chances are better they are selling some to their friend.

We have no name, hence no age. Could be 18 for all we know.
What's not cool is the assorted buffoonery involved with this video.
You do remember those "minors" who got properly shamed for tweeting racial epithets about Joel Ward when his goal eliminated the Bruins a few years back, right? The kids can consider this a life lesson in not being a dumbass.

Safe from Terrorist Plot
By DeerIslandAir
Thu, 09/25/2014 - 4:56pm
We should all feel completely safe from a terrorist plot despite in the last few days junior has ridden on top of an Orange Line car, (needs tune up in a mental hospital) someone rode a scooter onto a subway car (increased mobility), someone else enjoyed his supper on the T subway (multiply tasking) and some dude had an office chair on the subway (Staples does not deliver where he lives.)
So now the T is going to tell us all is well and they have it under control...

I would love to know if anyone in that subway car called the police on him, and if so, what the police's reaction was. (Knowing BPD it was probably something like. "Uh, you gotta cahl the T. We don't got jurisdiction they-ah."

Natural selection will take of this kid...he just needs a few more opportunities. Let the police concentrate on people trying to kill us, not themselves.

whip out your phone to take a video or picture, post it to the internet, and get as much cyber-fame as you can for being the guy who saw the guy with a pet raccoon on the T.
Then, wait for someone to retweet it @RelevantDepartmentWhoCouldActuallySolveProblem or post it to Citizens Connect, when it's several hours too late for them to do anything about it.

Door
By cybah
Fri, 09/26/2014 - 6:37am
The real question is.. why is that door unlocked? I was under the impression the doors between train cars were locked and required T Personnel to unlock them. They lock the doors to prevent this and people moving between cars (which I always found ODD when I go to NYC).
It doesn't excuse what he did, but has to make you wonder that somewhere there is a maintenance shop worker going "Sh*t, I forgot to lock that door"
Stoner Train Surfer is an idiot though.

Am I the only one here who watches this with a little wistful nostangia for the days when I was young and invincible? I'm happy the kid didn't get hurt, and while I never surfed a T car, I can't say I never did anything equivalently dangerous as a teen.
If you've ever thrilled at driving really fast on the highway, you have no place to judge. Your antics (which were mine, too) could have killed a lot of innocent people.
Rock on, kid. I hope you live through your teens and go on to apply your bravery, playfulness and athleticism to a long-life life-long passion.
