Weird space saver in Allston

Winter is coming: A roving UHub photographer noticed this basketball hoop setup being used as a space saver on Kelton Street in Allston tonight.

Maybe I'm naive but when I saw that yesterday morning, I thought it was actual garbage, not townie trash. Even with its large undergrad population, Allston is considerably more civilized than South Boston. I've lived in this neighborhood since the late 1990s and don't think I've ever seen a space saver.

Also, it's October for crying out loud!

I live right off of Kelton St. and there were lots of space savers out last winter. I will agree though that we are more civilized that Southie in regards to parking.

Brighton is riddled with space savers. Maybe not in Allston near Harvard Ave, but go out towards Brighton Center and Oak square. You'll see them come winter.
