That's terrible. I get take-out at Beauty's a lot --they are very nice folks.
Very sad
I go by there almost daily in the morning. People are already there working at that time, even though neither place opens until lunch. This must be a crushing loss for both businesses at a normally busy time of year.
Ned and his family are pretty awesome
He's the food supplier for Barcamp Boston, has been for a while...the food's good, he's friendly and easy-going to deal with, and when one of his newer drivers nearly hit me while I was riding, and I told him about it...I could tell he was genuinely concerned.
I hope nobody was hurt, and that he's back on his feet again soon. Even if he has insurance, this probably means a bunch of lost customers/business and so on.

Is that location where the old market was , then became Joe Savenor's package store , not to be confused with the package store with the ice machine ?
Good food cheap
I'll miss Beauty's 2 slices and a soda for under 5 bucks - a rare find in Cambridge. Mulan's lunch specials were the best deal around. A pot of tea, pickled cabbage salad, spicy peanuts, a tasty entree with rice and side dishes and fresh fruit for dessert....less than $10 bucks. They have another location in Waltham where I'll have to go for my Chicken in Chili Sauce fix.
Lots of folks out of work as a result of this loss but I'm glad they're all safe.
Awful news
I'd recently fallen for MuLan and their excel hot and sour soup. Awesome service, too. Hopefully they're able to rebuild, it was a great spot.
both restaurants are great
I have had pizza from Beauty's and I really love Mu Lan's great Asian meals. I drove past the location today and saw the windows boarded up. I hope that both businesses recover and wish them well.
