Yeah. Never had concerns walking around late night.
Although there was that winner that lived up the street from us, ended up getting arrested after he fell asleep in one of the houses he had broken into.
Plus, the panera is barely Needham. Its on that office park side of 128.
Right on the border with Newton and Wellesley. Hard to keep out the riff-raff with dodgy neighbors like that. You can't trust those guys, lemme tell ya. ;)
I don't see where it mentions they were there with a kid from Needham.
I do see it mentions the possibility of a 4th robber who broke away from the group that brought them the Rav4 to escape in, but it doesn't say in the article that the car belonged to someone in Needham or that the 4th person was from Needham.
Did I miss it? Is it in another link or article? Thanks!
The three suspects were identified as Perckens Borde, 19, of 971 Tremont St., Roxbury, Kermens M. Hylaire, 18, of 290 Forest Ave., Brockton, and Herauld Laguerre, 18, of 290 Forest Ave. All three men were charged with masked armed robbery and carjacking.
Since it's the local paper, they'd leave off "Needham" for a local guy.
Yeah, that sounds right, since I'm doubting Mr. Kerpan's League of 290 Forest Evil Doers :-).
So I apologize to the good burghers of Needham, although the point still stands: Is this a town wracked by crime and should I hire a driver to get me around it?
And yes, that's a lame allusion to the whole Roxbury crime thing.
Its not like Needham has anything to see anyway. At least Roxbury has some history that I could get into if I wasnt afraid of going into town without a body guard at 2pm
Yes, it was a lame allusion - "Too clever by 'alf," as they say in Britain. And no, your point does not stand - that's the whole point. You tried to be clever, and got whacked. Yes, there was a crime in Needham. The culprits were black males from outside Needham. Do you want to get clever about crime and black males? I didn't think so.
The Wicked Local Needham article says nothing about the suspects' appearance, other than that they were "masked". Are they described further in some other news report?
There is only a Forest STREET in Needham, according to Google Maps. And looking at the satelite view, it seems to be an office park. I think the last two guys lived at the same address on Forest Ave. in Brockton.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Adam, but the omission of a town on the third suspect's address was inadvertant. Herauld Laguerre, the 18-year-old at 290 Forest Avenue, resides in Brockton. Sorry for the confusion. It's been changed on our Web site and we're continuing to update the story.

TOTALLY!

Answer: it's not safe when
Answer: it's not safe when young males from Roxbury and Brockton come to town. Otherwise, it's damn safer than Boston.
They were there
At the invitation of a Needham lad, you'll notice.
Could that Needham lad been
Could that Needham lad been an expatriot of Roxbury?..
Cest' Possible
Hate to play that card, but judging by his accomplices and his name, the answer is probably.
I don't see it
Adam,

One of the accused....
...lives at 290 Forest Avenue -- which would seem to be a Needham address.
Yep
From the Needham Times article:
Since it's the local paper, they'd leave off "Needham" for a local guy.
I'd agree
except that the Brockton guy is also 290 Forest Ave. Coincidence?
You might have a point there....
...unless there is some sort of league of 290 Forest (alleged) ill deed do-ers -- made up of people from multiple towns.
Ah!

Color of suspects not specified in the linked article

No It's Not

How can the Newton Police
How can the Newton Police arrest people in Needham?
