Broken sewage line shuts two Allston restaurants

City health inspectors shut Bibim, 166 Harvard Ave., and Hanmaru, 164 Harvard Ave. yesterday after finding their basement filled with raw sewage from the cracked pipe.

Both were ordered closed until the pipe is repaired and they clean and sterilize the basement.

How long was it like that?

"basement filled" should give you a clue.

Both order the restaurants to remove the mold that has been growing as a result of all that moisture in the basement.

I think it's the same owners. Hanmaru, on the other hand, does a mean pork spine soup.

I am sure that councillor Linehan will get his boots wet helping these two businesses back on their feet - if they have "invested" in liquor licenses I am sure they've invested in him...

When they successfully applied for a license for a second restaurant in Davis Square, they said they did not have a license in Allston.

Neither restaurant serves alcohol.

Isn't Allston really just one big broken sewage line anyway?

Couldn't pay me enough to deal with that mess
