The Globe reports on the first day of the Tsarnaev trial, which included his lawyer laying the groundwork to blame it all on his older, and, of course, dead, brother and testimony from a manager at Marathon Sports, outside of which one of the bombs exploded.
Tsarnaev faces a possible death sentence if convicted.

They can say whatever they want. The guy is going down. There are no if's and's or butts about it. Whether he gets the chair, or spends the next 80+ years in a 10 x 10 cell makes no difference. He won't be getting 80 virgins. But he may end up with 80 bubbas.

What does Islam have to do with it?

We weren't talking about Fred Phelps, but nice try. The question was did Tsarnaev have an Islamic connection/motivation. His written statement confirmed that he did.

Although I generally don't associate Islam with bombings, machine gun attacks, mosque bombings, and other acts of mayhem, I just want to say that when they finally get the Red Line up, the absolute last thing I want to hear on it is someone shouting 'Allahu Ackbar' (PBUH).
Sorry. Islam is a blood cult spread by the sword. The brothers might be involved in some Waltham killings (9-11, no less) and if they got away, there would have been other bombs.
Having said that, I hope he lives to be a hundred. Three squares, healthy living, general population.
Oh, anon, no rape jokes here. The MB will take care of him in lockup.

The topic was NOT about Tsarnaev's "Islamic connection/motivation". I'll type it for you, since you seem to have missed it: "Yeah, he did it, Tsarnaev lawyer says in opening". You and others digressed into a discussion of what it has to do with Islam. I answered you: if you want to say that Islam caused Tsarnaev's action, you have to say that Christianity caused Fred Phelps' actions. Fred Phelps would tell you so himself. Want to own that one?

You just proved his point, but you're not smart enough to figure out why.
Go back and check for spelling errors and then you can really prove to us how smart you think you are.

Prison rape jokes are exactly as funny as other rape jokes=not at all. Knock it off. Doesn't matter who it is. We aren't ISIS.

One of the tweets I read was basically saying the only thing he regrets is not getting to be a martyr like his brother.
My guess is that the defense is hoping the jury will "not give him what he wants" and keep him locked up for life instead of going with the death penalty.
Really?

So, who said this in this tweet? Tsarnaev hasn't made any statement, so it couldn't have come from him. Must have been someone blowing it out their ass.

Anyone over 30 can recall being 15-24 and some of the reasoning you had at the time? I want him to stew in his bs as he get wiser. I can think of no better place than....

and everyone else in this circus. Still, prosecutors will likely waste everyone's time trying to establish that the baby brother was what his defense said he was - one of the bombers. After all, the FBI closed Boylston street for days with an army of agents turning over every leaf. They searched through dorm rooms, houses, and even a dump. Gotta parade all their findings with all the money spent, even if everybody just rather spend fewer weeks at the courthouse.

nor a circus, though you're a clown.
This is the entering into the public record the findings of the investigation. The facts of this have been kept close and in secret, and here is the only time that we get the opportunity to see what happened in detail from the state's point of view. That data has merit, and worth. The fact that you don't see it is only a reflection on you.
Oh, Mark, ever hear of the Sixth Amendment?
