Hard to believe that this
Hard to believe that this happened with local spokesmodel, David Muir, at the helm. Perhaps he was too busy scouring YouTube for more "news" stories.
hey now.
Don't hate him because he's beautiful.
Local, too
They said "Tufts Medical Center in Somerville" on Channel 5 last night, as well. My wife and I gave each other the "wait, did they just say that?" look at the time.
Same here....
...we were watching the same newscast, Michael, and had the same reaction! We wondered when Tufts built a new medical center on the Medford-Somerville (or as ABC News spelled it "Sommerville") campus. Someone at Channel 5 news should have caught the error and corrected it for their newscast.
Tuff Tuft is Tufted
Well, Tufts is atop a Tuft in Somerville, but the hospital is in Chinatown.
Tufts University address is:
Tufts University address is: 419 Boston Ave, Medford, MA 02155
Yes, but ...
Tufts Medical Center's address is 800 Washington St., BOSTON, MA 02111.
Not from around here, are you?
There are three medical schools in Boston. Not one of them has its campus on or near the campus of its affiliated university.
BUSM is affiliated with BMC
BUSM is affiliated with BMC and shares a campus.
BUSM?
You know what the BU stands for, right?
And before someone gives the reply, both Tufts and Harvard have their med schools close to their affiliated teaching hospitals and away from their main campuses.
And...
The "Tufts Administration Building" is at 167 Holland Street in Somerville, some distance away from the main campus.
The Tufts buildings in Medford have Somerville phone numbers, a different area code than Medford.
Tufts Medical School is in Boston
Tufts University School of Medicine
145 Harrison Avenue
Boston, MA 02111
Source: I work there!!!
There is a large Tufts University campus in Chinatown, largely biomedical research buildings.
And a huge portion of the
And a huge portion of the Medford campus is actually in Somerville. It's a shame the city line sign on College Ave. is no longer there.
As of 11 AM Sunday, channel 5 still has it wrong

But at least ...
They corrected the spelling of "Somerville."
Ch 5 attributed the article to themselves.
No mention of AP. 1 PM Sunday

Change comes in...
Change comes in baby steps.
They'll learn, eventually. Progress is not instant.
At least, I'm pretty sure that's something they taught in preschool. In the modern world, then...
This could be considered....
A jumbo mistake!
Tufts did have a student death
in Medford, on Friday, I think. No name, cause, details etc. reported, other than I think it was female.
Male student from South Korea
Male student from South Korea. Probably suicide as it was "sudden" and the family requested no information be released.
CATS
Keep in mind folks, orange cats are in fact the devil.
Communists are back-again!
The Commies are back, this time using media and news outlets to supply disinformation to the citizens of our great city! The tourists will be thinking that a medical center is in a different location than it actually is! When the tourist starts having a heart attack, they will be driven-to a hospital that isn't there!
An outrage! Of the most devilish kind!
Resist the Comintern!
Apostrophe
It's a simple case of apostrophe disease, whose latest strain manifests as the need to always insert an apostrophe before a final s.
*who's
*who's
nope
who's = who is
whose = possessive of "who"
"Whose bright idea was this crazy grammar rule?"
"Who's the ignoramus who made up this grammar rule?"
