Clover looks to set down roots in Copley Square

Cambridge Day talks to Clover CEO Ayr Muir about the experiences of running a 24-hour restaurant in Central Square (all good, he says) and reveals that, in addition to the Newbury Street cafe now under construction, Clover is also scouting locations in Copley Square.

Please Clover, come to the Prudential (old Tossed location), when the food court closes this month you will have a real captive audience.

The Back Bay office drones desperately need some more healthy (or at least healthy-ish) options in the area. The line at Sweetgreen is out the door by 11:30.
Have never been to Clover.
Have heard hype about them, both positive and negative. (Would really like to try, but find it hard to get buy in, whenever I'm around Inman - too many other Tried and True places.)
Am really pleased that they're doing so well - especially in Central, with both Veggie Planet and Life Alive in close proximity.
Wish them well. Some day, am going to get out to try them. Any menu recommendations?

panelle (currently avail.), brussels sprout sandwich, japanese sweet potato, enzo. the thai carrot side salad. beet soda, mango soda, whatever type of lemonade they have that day.

Clover's provisional employment policy turns me off. They hire workers temporarily for a month and can then let you go. Yeah, they have some fancy schmancy way of explaining it but bottom line is they hire lots of temp workers sometimes re-hiring them provisionally for a month to give them extra time to get better. Such BS. Not even sure they pay their interns? I used to visit the truck that was on the Boston Common near Park Street station. So much staff turnover and the truck manager always barked at anyone who dared to pause when the line slowed down, The sandwiches are incredibly overpriced and so are the cold drinks.

I think it's great that there's a 24-hour restaurant in Central. But I'm a little skeptical that they can make it work financially. Who shows up between the end of the bar crowd around 2:30 am and the beginning of breakfast around 6?
