Woman loses arm in Harbor incident; boat skipper arrested

The Herald reports on an incident last night involving a woman who fell overboard, the boat's propeller and the allegedly drunken operator of the boat, the 29-foot Naut Guilty.

The Coast Guard reports the woman fell around 7:40 p.m. off Spectacle Island. She was transported to Mass. General.

Meanwhile, some doof who got caught with beer or a fake ID when he was 19 will never be able to get a license for beer and wine in a 20 seat restaurant when he is 50 years old.

Where did you see "boy" mentioned? As for the use of "girl" for a 19 year-old female in critical condition, I got the gist of it. I'm surprised you didn't. Despite the reflexive bashing of the Herald here, once again they provided far superior coverage of a breaking, local story. The Herald reported the name and length of the boat, the time and location of incident, number of souls on board, location where boat and passengers were taken and even pictures of the arrest and investigation. The Globe merely offered a vague paragraph on-line and a NIB in print. Unacceptable for an incident that happened at 7:40 pm, well before deadline. I'd much rather read a local story of interest in the local paper than read about some Syrian woman collecting donations in Nashua NH.

Yeah, actually, one has nothing to do with the other. Good reporting (actual "reporting") about a local story is indeed important in a local paper.

Naked, tribal partisanship is bad. "Anything my guys do is ok, or they're just being persecuted. Anything the other guy does must be awful, because they're often on another side politically. This type of thinking is part of the reason a bunch of Congressional adulterers and child rapists in Congress spent months impeaching Clinton years ago.

the Herald has such great reporters like Laurel Sweet, whose painstaking attention to details in her reporting can always be counted on when wondering if a criminal suspect is a practicing Muslim.

A guy this young on the fast track with a law practice and nightclubs severs a 19 year old's arm and it's not newsworthy? Illegal drinking on the boat of a restaurateur with multiple license suspensions for illegal drinking? A boat named "Naut Guilty" operated with textbook gross negligence? This isn't "worth a lot of coverage"? Jesus, where do you live , Fallujah?

He does seem to have despicability covered.

He basically leveraged a business system on the backs of young women and the chump young men who blow the money to dance and buy em overpriced drinks.

And unlike old legends like the Lyons brothers, he can't seem to keep out of trouble or run a tight, quality operation.

He had significant responsibilities to ensure that the occupants of his boat made the excursion in one piece and made a complete hash of it.

With any luck the justice system will ruin him. It's just one more example of this quality decline in leadership and credential value that we see with the 2024 stooges.
