It's not worth it, and I say this as someone who went to Reykjavik and tried the rotting fermented shark that Icelanders are so perversely proud of.

Fermented shark actually has some cultural importance. Dunkin' Donuts is coffee-themed milky sugar water for mouth breathers.

Take a Dunks cup, dip it in the Charles River. Pour in a 1/2 pound of sugar and a pint of cream.
Might want to avoid the Charles until algal bloom leaves

Just go to wired puppy on Newbury and get a Mocha Freddo or insert someone else's favorite little coffee shop here.
But the price

IS TOO DAMN HIGH! The taste is spoiled by feeling scammed for how much you just paid for a cup of coffee.
Umm, wut?

You been to dunks and looked at the prices lately? Starbucks is cheaper, and the independents are in the same league.
Damn right.

Swirly speaks the truth!
Dunks is 'cheap' in terms of quality only.
Oh yeah and their coffee sucks.

It's almost as if better quality ingredients, and paying more than minimum wage to the employees leads to higher prices. Go figure!
Yeah almost...

Except that doesn't explain why DD's prices are just as high.
because
By Steeve

It's because they are publicly traded and are only beholden to shareholders.
I wonder how much we subsidize DD through public assistance for their employees, and the environmental impact of their cheap styrofoam cups strewn about our streets and landfills. That's gotta add at least .50 to their EPS alone.
Well, Maybe

I've always thought their prices were high because their customers where too dumb to consider going anywhere else.
But your answer is true too.

I get the same thing every day and it makes me much easier to get along with:
Medium Iced Caramel Swirl with Cream and two sweet & low.
You're Welcome.
After 5PM switch to local craft beer.
You can't lose.
Enjoy Boston.

Exactly.
Just get a Coffee Coolata and be done with it.
there's..

..almost exactly as much caffeine in a 16oz cup of decaf than in a 16oz "coffee" coolatta. How about just drinking a cup of sugar milk instead?
Maybe I just like it

Is it that hard to understand?
Besides, who said I was looking for caffeine?

LOL, that beverage already has 37g of sugar in it. Why bother with the Sweet N Low at that point? In for a dime, in for a dollar.
I know

I don't use Sweet N Low because I'm trying to save calories. I use it because it's sweet. Two packets equals ten tablespoons of sugar.
I also went to Ogawa coffee on Milk St. yesterday and that's where you can get a really expensive cup of coffee by the way.

The iced mocha latte

The one that uses fudge syrup and has whipped cream on top is usually pretty palatable, as far as Dunkin drinks go. Only a little chemical-y from the cheap syrup and the cheap whipped cream.
Avoid the chocolate-flavored coffees, for some bizarre reason they taste like blueberry.
Fruit Coolattas are OK, as long as you're looking for "I put a bunch of popsicles in the blender so I could drink it through a straw." Avoid if there's a history of diabetes in your family, because the Coolattas are so sweet, they'll shut your entire pancreas down in 12 ounces.
Actually, the best thing to do at Dunkin is get either a) a blueberry muffin or b) a coffee roll, and then go get your coffee somewhere else. Their pastries aren't that great in the grand scheme of things, but I refuse to pay $2.50 for the artisan mini-donuts or mini-muffins that are popular at other coffee chains (cough Starbucks cough.)
huh?

" Avoid if there's a history of diabetes in your family, because the Coolattas are so sweet, they'll shut your entire pancreas down in 12 ounces."
You realize that abomination of a "latte" drink you suggest has over 50 grams of sugar, right? That's nearly as much as some of the Coolattas. And the muffins...that muffin has 44 grams of sugar. That little meal you suggest has 24 packets worth of sugar in it.
If you don't want a history of diabetes in your family, avoid their food.

As someone who used to have sugar related issues (mine have gone away since I lost weight).. I can second what you are saying!
Best thing to get at dunks.. coffee, black, no sugar or cream.
Dark Iced

Their iced coffee, taken without the cream/sugar attack, is quite reasonable. More so for the dark roast.

Except with cream, because I'm one of those heathens who doesn't think fat is bad for you so long as you're not coupling it with copious amounts of sugar.
d+d iced coffee isn't too bad.

I'll get it "regular" either no flavor or French Vanilla.
hot coffee I go Starbucks all day long. Grande dark roast black.
. Brueegers has decent coffee sometimes and their coconut and French toast aren't bad when they have it.
7-11 hit isn't bad either. Half columbian and half hazelnut black is the way to go there.
petes is ok, a little dry to me for some reason.

the diabetes comment was hyperbole to describe how unusually sweet a Fruit Coolatta is. It's an experience similar to drinking Log Cabin straight from the bottle.
The lattes have plenty of sugar, but I've yet to have a latte from any coffee shop, in any combination, that gave me a head rush from the sugar instead of the caffiene like the Coolatta did.
A long time ago a "regular"

A long time ago a "regular" iced coffee from dunks was the way to go. At some point over the last five years that began to resemble more of a coffee milk instead of a coffee with milk.
A large iced, black, with two sugars. Not fabulous tasting coffee for the snobs of the world, but it's a bucket of caffeine that certainly does the trick for me 12 months out of the year.

I try to avoid going into a DD because you end up smelling like the store . Yucky watery coffee that i think it chemically altered to smell the way it does but never tastes that way. I dont get flavored coffee just the brewed dark roast - but dont do it often.
