A residential building goes up along the Riverway
By adamg on Fri, 08/28/2015 - 9:36am
Consigli, which is building the 10-story Mosaic on the Riverway, has had a camera pointed at the site since work began, and put together a time-lapse vidoe of the building going up (you can also get a near-live view).
The building, developed by the Roxbury Tenants of Harvard on the site of an old state mental-health facility, will have 145 units: 42 market-rate condos, 43 affordable condos and 60 apartments.

Kudos to them for protecting
Kudos to them for protecting and saving those two mature trees at the edge of the site.
Interesting
Been watching that building go up and thought it had something to do with a hospital. Pretty convenient location for a young doctor or nurse (if they can afford it!!)
Building also has
Building also has motivational stuff painted on the beams on the Brookline ave side with patients names on them, thought that was a nice touch
Typical
Steel guys do that a lot. It's pretty great.
Parking?
I ride by this 5 days a week and have been amazed at the fast progress. One thing I was wondering is about parking. As you can see in the video they didn't dig this out to build underground parking, so where are they going to put all the cars?
Edit: No mention of parking on the Mosaic website either.
They do mention parking
But kind of buried, on an FAQ page:
Resident permits
I hope they don't issue these people Resident parking permits or they will fill up the few resident parking spots on Fenwood Rd. Other than those, there is really no street parking during the week, so these people will either need to be car-free or buy one of those $35k spots.
Huh? Why wouldn't residents
Huh? Why wouldn't residents be able to purchase parking permits? They're, you know, residents of the neighborhood.
They'll get them for free
Since Boston doesn't charge for parking permits.
Love this stuff!
Gives you a great sense of the process.
For some reason, though, my favorite part was watching the porta-potties jump around.
Holy Jumping Portapotties
Says Robin.
Did Oddjob ever have a run-in with Batman before he met James Bond?
My is watching the dumpster
My is watching the dumpster being filled and then being empty again!
Zooming and rhythm
You can zoom into the movie using your mouse scroll wheel!!!!
Also, I like the rhythm of the parking garage roof across the street, its in 5/7 time....weekends are empty.
If I let it run will I see
If I let it run will I see the Morlocks come out and take Weena to their underground caverns?
