Tom Brady is freed.
Judge Richard Berman has nullified the NFL's four-game suspension of the Patriots quarterback today, according to a report from the Associated Press.

NFL Appeal?
By Suldog
Thu, 09/03/2015 - 10:40am
While I'm happy to hear this, and I believe it was the correct decision, I would expect the NFL to appeal. The decision opens a big can of worms concerning The Commissioner's arbitrary power to levy fines and suspensions. Accepting this ruling could make future NFL internal rulings very dicey.

If the NFL is smart (chuckle), they will use the Judge's decision to re-evaluate the Commissioner's arbitrairy powers.

The NFL screwed up here on many fronts. The investigation was half ass, so the findings were going to be half ass. Then the punishment was severe for the half ass investigation/findings. Then you have an appeal of those half ass findings and the NFL rules on their own half ass findings, with a half ass appeal process.
They fined the Patriots and took away a draft pick and that was more than enough with the proof that they had. The Patriots should have done a better job looking after the footballs, and had more control over their equipment guys/locker room workers.
2 draft picks, wasn't it?

And actually, the Commissioner had no real evidence that balls were deliberately deflated below acceptable levels. And no one has ever demanded that the NFL explain all the early leaks that massively exaggerated the extent of the deflation problem (and minimized both their incredibly sloppy testing and the fact that the other team had one out of three balls under-inflated).

According to ESPN telecast, they will appeal to the 2nd circuit court. But because of the overturn by a judge, appeals courts A) give weight to the lower court judges ruling and B) the NFL its now burdened with having to prove enough reason for reversal so they essentially become the defendant.

And I hope after every one of his 105 TD passes this year he brings the ball over to the other sideline and asks if the coach would like to inpect it.

My heart went out to Bob Kraft and Tom Brady. They suffered with the dignity of the children of Israel. They knew that the awful Goodell I, the hated pharoah of Football Inc. was an unjust ruler, that he was no ta noble jurist and saw nothing but the millions and minions of Brady and Kraft as too much and too many. Now Tom Brady is free to wander the fields of the lord's football, throwing footballs and in return receiving millions of dollars, that Kraft is free to rake in many more millions without the great burden of throwing said footballs, and the rest of us can take heart that the great legal jurist of the land, and the costs to the land and its people therewith, have pronounced from the Dignity and Truth of their holy secular office, that those who have no need, will forever have no need, will not suffer unjustly the shame of an under puffed football.
