There's this guy who goes to some "super religious" school somewhere on the East Coast who isn't supposed to go on an overnight trip without a companion, but he really, really wants to take in a Red Sox game, so can somebody make him up a fake wedding invitation?

To make it less dishonest, being the internet is pretty big and good number of people between Reddit and here, there's should be a good chance someone has a wedding on that weekend. A real invitation would meet the requirement better.
Easy solution.

Ok, will someone invite this guy to a gay wedding this weekend?
Time to put on your big boy

Time to put on your big boy pants and tell your parents that you will be going to a baseball game and overnight outing by yourself. Or just go. Otherwise this will only be the first of many lies you tell your super religious family in order to live life on your own terms.

The Reddit thread noted that his issue is the terms of his housing stipulates he has to sleep in his dormitory unless he takes a companion or have an excused reason. Apparently weddings are one. It did not say he is being barred by his parents.
You can say a school requiring to sleep at his dorm when he is (probably) over 18 is oppressive, but it doesn't sound like he's fighting his parents. Regardless, since they are holding the cards to his internship and his housing, I guess just saying he's going to a baseball game isn't allowed.

You're right, I noticed that after posting. Either way, seems like he's on a path that isn't consistent with his desires to live a "normal" life without excessive supervision.

People send their young adults to such places to prevent said pant-wearing episodes. That might mean some critical thinking - aka "the Devil" - is being learned. It is all about being controlled, not about learning self-control.

now that it's all over social media.
It's presumably already gotten back to all the schools it might be, and from there it will go to the parents, if they parents haven't seen it via other channels already.

He is travelling to Boston. He is not a local.
He is finishing up his education and taking steps to further himself from his parent's religion.

is that he can't easily find another person to go with him who would like to see a Red Sox game. He says that it would be hard to find someone to go with them unless he pays for their travel.
Why mess with a good thing?

Presumably he's at this school by choice and in this housing situation because it's something he likes or there is no affordable alternative.
So why risk that by breaking the rules just to see a baseball game? The Sox aren't going anywhere. He can catch a game once he's done with school or no longer needs that housing.

I presumed that he's actually FROM some place far from Boston, and expecting to go back there, so this is his best chance to get to see the Red Sox.
Using a wedding as an excuse is kinda strange to me, as weddings are a place young people hook up, right?

Is the Tsarnaev wife, Katherine Russel still available? Loves the extreme religions and might be able to put a few beers and dogs on the EBT cards.
