Central Square shows us some of the soggy people gathering for tonight's Le Diner en Blanc, an annual event in which invited people dress in white and eat dinner on white table cloths outdoors somewhere.

Seems like a harmless bit of fun. I like getting dressed up and going out for a nice meal, too. But I'm not a neat enough eater to wear all white anywhere.
Me neither

I can't wear white period. If I have to wear white to anything to do with food, I pretty much anticipate throwing the shirt out after because I always spill some on me. I'm a total pig when I eat.
Picked a helluva day for it.

The rain tapered down fairly early and once we made it to the secret location, the event was amazing.
It was one of the most diverse events I've ever attended since moving to Boston: different ethnicities, students and retirees and everything in between. People convened in Back Bay, Cambridge, Dorchester and other spots and caught the T/walked to the final location which ended up being City Hall.
It was surprising elegant with all the white tables decked out and lined up in hundreds of rows. People were very creative with decorations and were sharing food. With a salsa band and a DJ, there were two vibrant dance floors going. It went until midnight. Fun time.
