I would happily hack down every one of those trees right now if it would bring an untimely end to pollen season, if not cider-donut and 60-degree-day season

It's not all about you.
These are living things that support other life and clean our air. You could, like the rest of us, go and get allergy treatments and not spoil things for everyone else.

To the OP: That's a lovely picture!

I'm starting to think we need a special font around here -- to identify humor of the ironic, hyperbolic, and/or tongue-in-cheek variety.

Killing trees means more grass. More grass means more allergies for me.
Besides, why do you think that these particular trees are your problem?

Peak tree pollen season in Boston is the spring (March-July, depending on how the weather works out.)
If you're still suffering from allergies in October, you're likely allergic to ragweed/weed pollens, or dust mites if you're suffering indoors.

Now that cooler and less "oh my god someone just stick dynamite up my nose please" heads have prevailed, yes, that is a fantastic picture.

It truly was a beautiful afternoon and it's lovely to have this photo. I'm just glad the photographer didn't catch me running to move my car in sweats lol. I took this picture while working from home today: https://instagram.com/p/81HeeevYsL/
