Cambridge Police: Boston man comes to town to meet woman, ends up robbed and stabbed
Cambridge Police report a Boston man was stabbed during a robbery near the North Cambridge Catholic Cemetery on Rindge Avenue around 8:45 p.m. on Friday.
The suspects attempted to rob the victim’s gold chain and when the victim fought back, he was stabbed in the back with a possible knife or sharp object.
Cambridge Police responded to the nearby Taylor Square Fire Station on Garden Street, where the victim fled to after the stabbing. He was initially treated by the Cambridge Fire Department for non-life threatening injuries and then transported to a local hospital.
The victim was unable to identify the suspects, who were described as two black males wearing dark clothing. The victim was planning on meeting a woman, who he had connected with on Facebook but never met in person, prior to the attack occurring.

Love hurts
"Love hurts, love scars, love wounds..."
What does love got to do with it?
(sparing torture)
Jim Capaldi version
I highly recommend the Jim Capaldi version. It was a big hit in Europe in the mid 70s. Capaldi was the drummer for Traffic.

You're kidding!
This is the pop happy dance version. No angst, no soul, just... argh!
Muzak version
as heard in elevators, department stores, and waiting rooms. Doesn't get any cheesier!
Do the police
think this guy was set up by the Facebook woman?
If he said he met her through
If he said he met her through Craigslist he'd be the one charged. ;)
Uh ...
there was a real Facebook woman?
Fled to the fire station
Fled to the fire station about 3/4-mile away, and unable to identify the suspects? Something fishy about the story.
Chose A Cemetery As A Romantic Meeting Place?
love in a cemetery
That reminds me of an anecdote in The Beatles' Anthology (the book version of it, at least): in his young and idle days back in Liverpool, John took a lover to the cemetery to have sex, after which they both found themselves suffering poison ivy rashes all over. As he put it: "It was a bizarre lesson in karma and/or gardening."
It's just not that guy's day
First a guy gets stabbed, and then someone calls him a liar.
Claims he was meeting a woman
he hooked up with on FB, but had never met, after dark, at a cemetery? Gets assaulted, stabbed by two guys he can't adequately describe? Sounds legit.
Do you have any more specifics about the location?
This is a really short walk from where I live, so I'd like to know more about the incident, such as whether it happened on Rindge Avenue or on Sherman Street.
IAnd yeah, there are plenty of safe indoor places nearby where one could arrange a meeting instead, such as Pemberton Farms or 7-Eleven or Jose's)
Rindge Avenue
Sorry about that; I managed to not include that fact. Or as CPD put it:
You people are disgusting...
I'd love to see your reaction is this happened to you or someone you care about. Assholes... Seriously, our society is fucked if you're the best it has to offer.
