...as a lesbian I have no idea how this is homophobic. There is literally a tumblr run by lesbians of lesbians who look like justin bieber. Unless I missed some sort of deleted comment?

I believe that she may have originated the meme about him looking like a lesbian, too.

(They may actually be related fifteen different ways - not that many people in that area of Alberta.)

I can't speak for everyone, but I think it was kind of funny. That "lesbians that look like Justin Bieber" meme has been around for quite a while now. I don't think many in the LGBT community were too offended by it. Full disclosure, I'm a gay male. But I'm also an older gay male who predates the kind of extreme political correctness that now prohibits LGBTs from sometimes having a chuckle about ourselves.

Plus everyone knows JP is in late-phase gentrification and is converting over to straight couples with babies. Bieber memes are the least of the problems to get riled up about as a minority lol.

It seems to me, as a gay man, that most of the people who get worked up about such trivial matters are not LGBT peoples, but well intentioned white liberal heterosexuals for whom LGBT matters are the cause of the month, now that evrything has gotten so out in the open. There is an element of patronization involved, though of course they would never consider it as such. Dilettantism is not new.
