But I do question the assertion that it had to have been drunken students. Certainly possible, but she must have a pretty big "jump to conclusions" mat lining her living room floor, unless she's the type of 93-year old woman whose optimal time to enjoy watching birds out her window lies in the middle of the night, enabling her to make such an accurate claim.

I feel bad for the lady, but sheesh.

Once this particular door is opened, it never gets closed again. There's a misconception among the townies here that every bad thing that happens to them is because of/due to/the direct result of a college student.

the schools certainly would not want to own up responsibility...it would be a way of saying "yeah our students wreck your neighborhood"

I used to live across the street and remember that house. It was, when I was there< a pretty quiet neighborhood as far as Mission Hill goes.

If I called the number the police listed and asked if I could replace the bird bath, would they be annoyed?

My grandmother's bird bath was a constant source of joy to her, so this has kind of struck a nerve with me.

And my bike was stolen last month. Probably -- nay, most assuredly -- by those drunk-ass gownies. Can we set up a fund for a new one for me? I used to love riding it around town.
