UPDATE: It was water.
Around 11 a.m. on Essex Street at Atlantic Avenue. A BFD decon unit responded to the scene after whatever the liquid was made the driver start coughing. Service on the Red and Orange lines was briefly halted at Downtown Crossing after police received a report the guy might have entered that T station.
Initial BFD testing showed no toxic chemicals, but the bus was to be taken out of service to be cleaned.

The police must be responding to calls like this all over the city. Do we know what happened to the girl at Copley who was falsely accused the other day,did they hold service that day.
That WOMAN (not a girl)

CLAIMS an incident occurred. It's only her word, no verifiable, independent witnesses, and she and transit police seem to be experiencing difficulty in hooking up to discuss the alleged incident.

Are you the same anon who kept making comments the other day about how this incident didn't happen? Why do you have such a bee in your bonnet over this? And why are you so sure that this woman fabricated her story? I don't get it.
No, I'm not.

Has she finally corresponded with transit police and given them full details? If she has, they can now check videos, and speak with train drivers and others who would be aware of such a commotion, and be able to verify her account. In fact, I'm surprised transit police weren't already informed that such a serious incident occurred. If she has actually made a formal complaint with police, and they determine it was baseless, she should be charged with filing a false report. I think she didn't expect her made up FB blog would have such traction and is afraid of the consequences if she files a false report, not to mention damage to her name and reputation.
The whole thing doesn't pass the smell test. What will happen is it'll just disappear, and both her and those who knew or strongly suspected she made it up, but capitalized on it for 48 hrs or so, will all breath a sigh of relief.

She was actually advised by her school to make her posting private in order to discourage harassment by whackjobs such as yourself.

bullshit. If it really happened, she should be actively engaged with police to find the '5 men' who forced her, on a train no less, in front of many people, to show them what was in her bag.
The story is ridiculous, and she knows it. I predict we'll here nothing more about tjis alleged hate crime...because it never happened.
And why would the school 'advise' a grown adult what to do with her FB blog? What the hay does it have to do with the school she attends?

It's not like T riders haven't resorted to rather more toxic chemicals in the recent past.

there are a lot of non-toxic substances that could cause coughing and respiratory distress, like perfumes and colognes aimed at the under-21 set, baby powder, incense, even vinegar.
This was just water, but it's still possible in other situations that something ultimately harmless could seem harmful before anyone knows what they are.

Clearly a terrorist incident. Just because it's water, doesn't mean it isn't extremely dangerous.
