If no one reads newspapers and
you buy a newspaper, do you really own a newspaper?
how to shape opinions
If you think the crap Boston Herald publishes doesn't shape opinions, you'd be dumb as its target audience. Of course editorial content shapes opinion. Murdoch is one of the most powerful people in the world because of his media empire. Right wing radio drives politics all of the country.
Not a Herald fan...
... but do you have any idea when he sold the paper to its current owners?
(Hint -- 1994)
There has been a Boston Herald lining
birdcages for 170 years, though Purcell's demo is filling cemeteries faster than subscriptions.
Interesting story
I've been following this LVRJ story as I travel to Nevada frequently. Imagine the media frenzy / uproar if someone bought the Globe but no one knew who? Very interesting to see how this goes down.
Spoke too soon
Spoke too soon. It was Shelden Adelson, from Massachusetts and owner of the Sands/Venetian.
