then you can assign blame to the missed extra point which forced an attempted 2pt conversion to tie the game. what have you done for me lately is the name of the game, and the answer is missed an extra point. sorry that you allow emotions to cloud reality.
its far from the only thing that lost the game but lol if it wont be one of the things that stands out, besides brady getting mauled
They needed to get the ball in the end zone. There was 2.5 minutes left and they were down by 8. It's easy to say after the game that they should have kicked a field goal, but there isn't a coach on the planet who would have kicked a FG in that situation.
If they had won the Miami game, this game would have been in Foxboro instead of in Denver. (Among other reasons winning the Miami game would have been good.)
the number one seed a hundred different ways, including miami. i would consider rewatching the shitshow that was special teams in the first broncos game.
I'm not sure home field advantage played much of a role in this loss. The O-line has been dogshit all season and Denver's got the best defense in the league. If Brady only has 1 second to get rid of the ball, we aren't winning anywhere.
As a transplant who hasn't yet embraced the local teams, let me assure everyone here that you are the luckiest goddamn fans in the country and "only" getting to the conference championship game this year is... fine!
I agree, except (barring information we don't have) it seems like they had the right ingredients to beat Denver...except maybe the offensive line, but that may be a bit like saying "We could have an omelet but we don't have any eggs." But I'm sort of relieved, TBH. They executed well against KC, very poorly in their last two regular season games, somewhat better (than those two games) against Denver, but I don't think they have the legs to win the Super Bowl. I think Carolina's gonna pummel whoever comes up against them, it might as well be the horses.
Well, it was mostly the same formula (well-executed) that most teams that have beaten the Patriots in important games the last few years have used - enough pressure on Brady that he doesn't get many comfortable plays. This time it was done by a combination of good pass rush and good pass coverage.
As big as the other plays some of you have mentioned, though - three passes off James White's hands in the fourth quarter. All of them tough plays, to be sure - but if he pulls in any one of them it's a different ball game.
i would if i could justify a use for it- i have another product which fills much the same niche currently. that being said probably the most fun/funniest part about last night was the anti-tisement of the surface.
i understand your point and agree that it was probably not the best advertisement- maybe. the fact is the surface is so underexposed (imo) that even getting people talking about it at all might be a net positive.
right now though i'm wasting my money on things similar to the chromebit/kangaroo mobile desktop
fun stuff to play around with if youre into that sort of thing.
in salary will the team members take for this loss?
Oh, right - none. Perhaps that's part of the problem. New rule - Lose a game because of bonehead moves, you forfeit a portion of your pay. Then see how much better these people play.

I hope they make Marcus
I hope they make Marcus Cannon walk back to Foxboro.
gostkowski
can carry him
BS!
He's done so much for the team. There's no way you can blame this loss on him. Yeah, he made a mistake in what 523 attempts! Brady threw 2 INTs!
if you can assign blame to anything at all

I didn't know Gostkowski was the coach
At least, I don't think he was the one who decided to "go for it" on a couple of 4th down plays within field goal range.
Um...

Not disagreeing
Just pointing out that the point deficit resulted from numerous different sources and decisions, only one of which Gostkowski had any control over.
one word.
Miami
here is a second word
elaborate?
if its about home advantage, they had a number of other opportunities they could have taken to cement that and didn't
If they had won the Miami

#1 seed
Pats lost #1 seed by losing to Miami, so had to play at Mile High, where they always have trouble.

To be fair
They told him it was nitrous.

That was a costly missed extra point
I mean the one in the first quarter, not at the end.
The Sun will
Rise tomorrow.
I know...
its just a game. everyone calm down.
"everyone calm down"
This from the guy who couldn't refrain from pissing in the punchbowl a few days back. Enjoy your schadenfreude and stop being a hypocrite about it.

Ha-Ha!
"I said 'Ha-Ha!'"
Ugh is right!
Really wanted to see Brady go all the way to shut up all the haters.
"shut up the haters"
that will never, ever happen. thats ok though.
adorable!
adorable!
Anyone else feel that?
When the game ended I swear I felt the wind pick up. I assume it was caused by Goodell exhaling in relief.
Bye bye patriots

I was so over it after the third quarter.
The real loser of last night's game was ...
Microsoft. Would you buy a Surface tablet now after that kind of national exposure?
