People who favor curry in the Theater District can no longer assume a Tantric position

Tantric India Bistro in the Transportation Building has shut its doors forever, after serving up Indian food for 12 years.

Our heartfelt thanks for your past dining visits over the years, and your many kind and complimentary words and encouragement, and we wish you the very best in your journeys.

H/t Arturo Gossage.

There have got to be half a dozen empty storefronts in/around the state transpo building in what should be decent real estate. Those contractors ripping off the state have to eat somewhere, you know.

My company's offices used to be on Tremont close to the Transportation Building food court, so we ate there often. I never got the impression that the patrons consisted of "contractors ripping off the state", but then, I was buying lunch, not grinding an antigovernment ax. The crowd seemed to consist of people who worked in the area or were there on business. But, when you get right down to it, not many downtown workers have a sit-down lunch in a restaurant, unless you count the stand-up tables at 5 Guys or something like that. It's a matter of time and money, you know? The Theater District linen-tablecloth places have to survive on those staying at nearby hotels and those in town to see a show.

Because they weren't ripping anyone off. They were staying within the limits of their expense accounts.

My work did big meeting dinners there in the little back room space. It was very easy to have a beer and order a huge variety of stuff for the table and still keep it under $30 a person! Ditto for the lunch buffet.

Oh man, that stinks. I always enjoyed Tantic for dinner before going to a show in the area. Have the rents in that building been going up a lot? It's strange to see so many vacancies now given how active of an area that is.

Great foot casting. Foot orthotics for shoes are available downstairs at the Tufts Medical Center Biewend Building between the Wilbur Theatre and the Wang Theatre
