Dorchester man charged with running Tewksbury cockfights; 23 others also arrested

WBZ reports Frank Castro and 23 other people were arrested at a Tewksbury home:

The roosters had spurs attached to them, which police say was designed so more damage would be inflected during the fights.

Don't all roosters have spurs? I think they mean they attached razorblades to the spurs or something to make the fights more lethal.
