By adamg on Tue, 05/03/2016 - 5:55pm
Transit Police report arresting Terrell Alves, 25, for attacking a 14-year-old girl at the Downtown Crossing T stop around 8 a.m. last Wednesday.
Police say detectives found him in Kenmore Square today and arrested him on a charge of indecent assault and battery.
On Dec. 17, Alves was charged with a similar offense after he allegedly went after a woman on an Orange Line train as it approached Downtown Crossing - an attack police say other passengers broke up.
Innocent, etc.

the courts should have used their precognitive power and just sentenced this guy to life in prison for crimes they should have foreseen he would commit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes and no
I get you're being sarcastic, but people who engage in brazen sex crimes have an exceptionally high rate of recidivism, which can and should be taken into consideration during sentencing.
The recidivism rate of people
The recidivism rate of people who commit sex crimes after getting caught for committing a sex crime is about 3%. I'm pulling it from memory right now but I believe the source was a 1994 US DOJ study on recidivism. And it's pretty much the lowest recidivism rate for all crimes out there. (Robberies are like 60-70% for example.)
If you're finding higher numbers, you're probably looking at overall recidivism rate: That is, the "recidivism" was a non-sex offense. Most of the time when sex offenders go back to jail it's because of a parole or a registry violation, not an actual subsequent attack.
1994 was quite a while ago,
1994 was quite a while ago, surely you can cite some more recent facts. I have a feeling its much higher even though these statistic dont include sex offenders:
Bureau of Justice Statistics studies have found high rates of recidivism among released prisoners. One study tracked 404,638 prisoners in 30 states after their release from prison in 2005.[1] The researchers found that:
-Within three years of release, about two-thirds (67.8 percent) of released prisoners were rearrested.
-Within five years of release, about three-quarters (76.6 percent) of released prisoners were rearrested.
-Of those prisoners who were rearrested, more than half (56.7 percent) were arrested by the end of the first year.
-Property offenders were the most likely to be rearrested, with 82.1 percent of released property offenders arrested for a new crime compared with 76.9 percent of drug offenders, 73.6 percent of public order offenders and 71.3 percent of violent offenders.
citation please
for your recidivism numbers
Well,
I'd sure like to know what happened with the first charge? Has he had a trial yet? Scary to think of this guy assaulting a 14 year old.
Probably hasn't gone to trial on first case
I'll check with the DA's office in the AM, though.

Email the mbta police. I did that with a video I took of a guy I recognized from one of these posts who was arrested for assault on the T. The video I had was him on the red line verbally sexually harassing women.
Unbleepingbulleevubble!! Get
Unbleepingbulleevubble!! Get this guy out of the public's sight please. Thank you Commonwealth of Mass. Powers That Be, signed, The People.
Great work by TPD
My only issue is that if a sexual attack on a young girl happens in the burbs the public is warned that night by media reports. On the MBTA the public finds out about these predators only after an arrest has been made. Shouldn't the MBTA have notified the Boston Public Schools and all other school systems that a predator was loose on the system preying on young girls?
