Brian Martell of West Roxbury is transforming an old pizza place into a new chicken takeout place that will serve up the poultry cooked several different ways.
YellowBird Home Style Chicken is going in where Pomodoro's and then Papa Giorgio's used to be, at 239 Grove St., just off Washington Street.
A menu posted in the window also promises a burger and a fish sandwich for people who don't cotton to chicken.
YellowBird will be several blocks away from a Kentucky Fried Chicken on Washington.

And why Yellow?
Also, why a "new menu" when the place hasn't even opened yet? What was on the old menu, Green chicken?

I'm a sucker for fried chicken. Even though it's way out of my way, I think I will look for a time to make a visit to try it out. There's not exactly many places like that does fried chicken that is not KFC (and a few Popeyes - though come to think about I have not tried out the NY restaurant either) that I am aware of.
