JP's South Street could get a new dinner spot

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to let Fiore's Bakery, 55 South St., stay open until 10 p.m. so it can begin offering what owner Charlie Fiore called "low-key" dinners.

The board also decides whether to let Fiore's add a six-table patio.

At a hearing today, Fiore and city officials said there's strong demand for a dinner option on South Street and a place where people can enjoy their baked goods and sandwiches al fresco.

The mayor's office and City Council President Michelle Wu supported the proposal, as did the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council. Nobody spoke against.

They make a hell of a breakfast sandwich. I'd love to see them open for longer hours, and the patio would be a nice touch. Wonder if they could wrangle one of those beer and wine licenses for Main Streets, while they're at it.

Fiore's is the best. Best sandwiches, best pastries, accommodates all allergies and preferences. Just a great community place. Happy for them.

I love Fiore's! The food is so good & it is sooooo JP. Let Fiore's stay open until midnight, give them a liquor license (I don't see why not, Simpli down the street has one), and turn the old Harvest Co-op next door that has been empty for months into a legal marijuana lounge/live music venue.

I didn't hear that one. I have heard a ton of rumors though, since Harvest closed down. My favorites are community art gallery managed by Spontanious Celebrations, marijuana dispensary, and sensory-deprivation tank business (kinda like Float in Somerville). Who knows? Day school works for me too, though.
