Man charged with hit and run, possession of LSD-laced Rice Krispy treats on Atlantic Avenue

Boston Police report a security guard at the Boston Harbor Hotel, a Homeland Security agent and a passerby teamed up yesterday evening to detain a man they say was trying to flee his wrecked car after he'd smashed several cars near the hotel, injuring at least one person.

Police say Boston officers who arrived around 6:15 p.m. found Jesse George Rausch's car loaded with a large nitrous-oxide tank and "a large quantity of Rice Krispy and Trix Treats packaged for sale that appeared to be laced with a hallucinogen, a pill bottle containing a green-brown substance believed to be hashish, over $1200 in US currency, and various drug paraphernalia."

Raush, 26, of Enfield, Ct., was packing "multiple tabs of what appeared to be acid and a glass vial of what appeared to be crystal meth," police say, adding the bomb squad was called in to make sure the nitrous-oxide tank was safe.

"Rausch displayed signs of being under the influence of drugs," police add.

Police did not say if Rausch had been planning to set up shop outside the Dead & Company show at Fenway Park last night. During the show, police seized several nitrous-oxide tanks in the Fenway.

Rausch was charged with operating under the influence of a controlled substances, four counts of possession of LSD with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of marijuana, possession of class C drugs and leaving the scene of a personal-injury crash.
