Fire damages two Dorchester three deckers

Fire on Sudan Street in Dorchester

The Boston Fire Department reports a fire called in around 11 a.m. did $75,000 damage to 45-47 Sudan St. and another $25,000 in damage to a neighboring three decker.

The department reports no injuries. The cause and origin remain under investigation.

I thought those were called triple decker a. Wasn't this determined? If not, we need a poll.

People in Dorchester call them three deckers, so that's what I call them in Dorchester (or Mattapan) stories. Elsewhere, yeah, I go with triple deckers.

As a 48 year resident of Dorchester, I can tell you we call them both triple deckers, and 3 deckers. And my friend whose back yard is a couple of houses away in a triple (3) decker on Crescent calls it triple. He and his are ok. I hope everyone on Sudan is ok.

Adam, I would love for you to sit in on the court sessions of Judge Weingarten and Judge Bolden and see how they continue to dismiss the cases of drug offenders, many with violent, long records.
