Vittorio Hassan, who ran an eponymous kosher pizza place on Beacon Street until 2003, is returning to the same location to open an eponymous kosher pizza place.
Vittorio Hassan hopes to open Vittorio's Kosher Grill at 1398 Beacon St. - where he ran Vittorio's Kosher Pizzeria from 1995 until 2003.
The space was most recently occupied by Pizzeria Dante, which moved to Harvard Street this past spring.
In his application for a food-serving license, Hassan says he'll serve mainly pizza in the 16-seat space.
Hassan is seeking to open between 10 am. and 10 p.m. most days; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.
Brookline lost the most venerable of its kosher restaurants, Rubin's, earlier this month.

I have to ask - did you come all the way over to Brookline to take the photo? (I see you did not use mine, as is correct. :-) )
Yes, of course

We're not that far away here in Rozzie. And then we got lunch at Rod Dee.

Aha! One day, we'll actually meet. Maybe we can have lunch at Vittorio's!
Sounds like a plan!

As it happens, it's the same Vittorio as owned the pizza shop. His request for a Common Victualler's License appeared before the Brookline Board of Selectmen on 16 August.
Thanks for the lead!

Was able to look up his common victualer's request on the town Web site (which uses the same document system for selectmen's meetings as the Boston City Council, which is kind of cool) and add in the details to my post.

So is this a grill (meat restaurant) or a pizzeria (dairy restaurant)?

The application says "pizza," but obviously the sign in the window says "grill."

1) Do we know when this is opening?
2) Do we know who is providing the kosher certification? I contacted KVH and they said they havent received an application from them.
