You didn't already take out your air conditioner, did you?

Sure, the National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for the western suburbs for tonight, but Eric Fisher says we could hit 80 next week.

Nope
reason #1 - new england weather
reason #2 - lazy
Fischer is out on a limb a bit
Everyone else is sticking to high in the low 60s for next Wed. Will the forecasts ever converge? Or will it just be there on Twitter and Uhub for historians to consider?
He's not on a limb
look at the chart - the chances of 80+ hereabouts is about 1 in 4 - ie not likely, but certainly not mind-blowingly remote.
He's not predicting it - he's just pointing out that it's not outrageous that it might happen.
A day later everyone else is upping their temperature forecast
First 3 days of next week are predicted to be over 70. These predictions are close to 10 degrees higher than they were last night.
Next week?
I trust no meteorologist a week out. Also, my gut is that Fisher reports for ratings, so I predict above average, but not record setting, temps by next week.
If you need an air
If you need an air conditioner for 80º, maybe you're better suited for the climate of Helsinki.
November
We never take it out till November 1st. Born and raised New Englander. Show me multiple days of frost and then we'll talk.
A/C
Mine died in August (a month after the one year limited warranty ran out) so I've been using portable one on wheels. I guess I'll wheel it back into my room next week if it gets hot.
My bigger concern about being cool isn't about the daytime, It's how hot it is at night. This time of the year, it rapidly cools at night so it shouldn't be too bad without air conditioning. A nice fan blowing some cool air in should suffice.
Sweet!
Procrastination saves the day again!
