When attacked by a seagull, just let it peck your eyes out

Bruce wonders why a window washer wound up in jail for defending himself against an attacking seagull:
... Oh, sweet smoking Jesus, people! It was a goddamn SEAGULL! What the hell, you slap a pair of wings on a friggin' rat, and suddenly it's an endangered species or something???
What's next, prosecuting the Orkin man? ...

He was arrested because he destroyed the eggs in the nest. If he didn't kill the unborn seagulls, he would have walked.

Hmmm, that does change the picture a bit--didn't see that detail in the Herald article. So there was a nest on the building where he was working?
If he destroyed the sea gull
If he destroyed the sea gull eggs, he should get a small reward of some sort.
Uh-oh ... I hope the MSPCA thought police aren't reading this.

Huh? Since when is the MSPCA a boogieman?
Seagull homicide!!!
He should have just molested the egglets, then the bleeding heart, moonbats would have considered Guay the victim and sided with him...

One less gull is not a problem. The Mass Division of Fisheries and Wildlife has poisoned gulls by the hundreds in an attempt to give these tiny Roseate terns - an endangered species, and Piping Plovers a chance to nest. The gulls take over the nesting grounds before the terns get back from wherever they migrate to.
Gulls are extremely aggressive about their nests. I know that first hand because I tried to explore one of the outer harbor islands. You couldn't see the nests from the water because of the bushes. I had to defend myself with an oar.
What's funny is while listening to Michael Graham's show on 96.9 FM (yes, that's a plug, love the guy)I learned that the window washer has pets, including more than a few birds. It's not as if he's an animal hater. Seagulls are just obnoxious winged rats. This whole thing is ridiculous. The guy lost his job and might land in jail, but child molesters can get probation. That's justice for you.
No eggs got scrambled
None of the follow-up articles, including this one in today's Herald mentions anything about eggs being destroyed. Witnesses say that Guay was not merely defending himself, but that he was actively going after the birds. Too bad the birds can't speak up to tell us what really happened.
Get your facts straight
Perhaps those inclined to comment on this incident should get their facts straight. As one of the so-called humanitarian office slackers that witnessed the event, I can you first hand that the story broadcasted by so many media outlets was far from what happened. The window-washer/animal lover was not up on any ropes, nor was he washing any windows! He was on a rooftop of an attached building, walked over to the roof with the nest (where he had no business being), and intentionally killed a mother seagull with a metal pipe as she was watching over her young. As disturbing as this incident was to watch...this was not the reason he was fired. After beating the mother gull, he proceeded to flip off onlookers, and pissed on the rooftop. This unprofessional behavior was the reason he was fired.
Get your facts straight.
