Not sure if all those Harvard students really can relate to the food service workers' real life stuggle from paycheck to paycheck.

nothing in support? I am sure some can related, some are trying to relate, and, perhaps, some are just there to be there. The latter are probably in the minority.

I think it is refreshing to see young people showing empathy for others, who, as you describe, are facing real life struggles.
