Gedalia Pasternak captured three people showing support for members of the Islamic Society of Boston on Prospect Street in Cambridge around 12:30 pm. The guy in the back is a mosque member who was rushing over to give them a hug.
There will be a vigil in front of the Islamic Society of Boston mosque at Roxbury Crossing at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11.

Don't think so
Although there is that threatening letter going around, but think of something that might have been going on for the last year or so that might have led people to stand in front of a mosque with signs of support.

It is to raise awareness of he kind of radicalized categorical hatred which you seem to share with that student.
Just don't go on a rampage and kill a bunch of cops, mmmkay? Because radicalized pseudopatriots are a far bigger threat for this sort of behavior than any member of this Mosque.

This wasn't related to anything specific that happened but rather the increased atmosphere of hostility towards Muslims since the election. Many Muslim people have spoken about being harassed or just generally feeling unwelcome/unwanted in their home country, so we wanted to help make them feel welcome.

Confirmation
I can confirm that Tamerlan was, in fact, a giant asshole. Outside of the obvious reason, I boxed in a few tournaments he was in and worked out occasionally with the team at Wai Kru. In all the interactions I had with him his behavior ranged from douche bag to downright scumbag. I don't know much of the Islamic Center of Boston, but if they saw/heard any of the things he discussed/was involved, my guess is they probably wouldn't even let him through the door.
