Brownies, possibly made with pot, send six West Roxbury high-school students to the hospital

Six students at West Roxbury Academy and Urban Science Academy were transported to a local hospital today after "exhibiting signs of illness," BPS says in a statement:
This afternoon six students from West Roxbury Academy and Urban Science Academy were transported to a local hospital after exhibiting signs of illness. The students ingested brownies that may have been tainted with marijuana. Boston Public Schools does not tolerate students in possession of, or under the influence of, controlled substances while at school. Students who are found to have been in violation of the school's Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action.

Yeah but
Question 4 or No Question 4... this probably would have still happened. It's not like pot brownies just magically appeared because people voted yes on Question 4. They've been around for a very long time, with or without Question 4.
Of course, this won't be seen by the pundits of Question 4. And will be used as "ammo"

i would appreciate some sort of factual backup to the marijuana claim (from BPS) rather than this 'maybe its marijuana' BS.
also lol if these kids decided to try edibles for the first time while they were in school. just lol.

I don't know anything other than what was in that terse BPS statement. But would it make a difference if the kids, well, most of them, didn't realize they were getting pot brownies? It's one thing when you know that's what you're getting and what to expect; it's another if you just eat something and start feeling, well, different.

but it doesn't really change the main aspect of my gripe, which is that its a seemingly completely unsubstantiated claim from BPS.

I would like to know what signs? Specifically.
And if they did get a mega-dose of pot brownie* , what treatment can the hospital provide? I have to assume it's a course hours of observation and being sent home.
*I've never eaten "edibles", and I've heard pot has gotten a lot stronger in recent years, but I'm picturing kids who are just a bit high, and the school admins just not knowing what else to do.
Abundance of caution, blah blah. Sleep it off, kid.
In all honesty, is there such a thing as medically OD'ing on pot, or pot poisoning?
Nope
You need to injeet the equivalent of like 20 pounds of plant material to OD. Even using concentrate like hash or oil its next to impossible and at the very least cost prohibitive. ODing on pot would cost you thousands of dollars.
These kids were just wiggin out....IF it was pot related. We still don't know.

Surely school officials know exactly what "a bit high" looks like, as they probably see it every day....
Stuff like puking and panic attacks might have led them to their conclusion this time.
It's rarely a big deal but if there's a chance of a serious underlying health problem, like heart disease, one ought to be careful if a kid has had too much.

How many schools make up
Westie high? And do each of
them have a separate
principal?
Currently two
Each with its own principal or headmaster, although they share athletic programs (initially, after BPS decided to break up West Roxbury High, there were four schools).
