Short life expectancy for Boston DJs?
Sorry to hear of the death of Lisa Lipps at 59, but it calls to mind Sunny Jo White and Mark Parenteau who died short of their life expectancy. I also think of John Henning, Chet Curtis and others who were taken too soon. The Boston media is a relatively small circle so I can only wonder if there are workplace conditions that are causing health issues. Of course, Sunny Jo and Parenteau lived risky, alternative lifestyles but still odd to see so many dropping dead. I'll never forget the Herald column reporting channel 7's R.D. Sahl bailed out Sonny Jo on some petty crime in Boston. The connection was never explained.
Though not a DJ and not from Boston
Andrew Breitbart lived a risky , alternative lifestyle that oddly saw him drop dead.....must have been the workplace conditions.
He had a heart condition for
He had a heart condition for a long time. You call being a good friend of Bill Maher and a non sycophant journalist a risky alternative lifestyle? He was no different than Tim Russert.
or Matt

Ummm...what 'risky alternative lifestyle' was that?
He must have!
He died very young ... at least, if you read the original Fishy post and apply Fishylogic to the situation!
Or, if you read the original post, and learn to handle sarcasm and satire ala buick.
Love you
Swirl!
Rotten fish
Rotten fish is up at 4 am consumed with homophobia. Sad.
First he talks about Boston DJs dying young. Ok so far. Then to throw us off his main theme he mentions 2 men who died in their mid 70s, not young.
Then he gets to his real point, homophobia. White and Parenteau had a "risky alternative lifestyles"
Then he goes off on a demented tangent to somehow link R.D. Sahl with Sonny Jo White, he of the aforementioned "risky alternative lifestyle". You know, wink, wink.
Rotten fish just cant help himself. The hate is so strong he cant put a lid on it.
Btw, its Sonny Jo White, not Sunny.
I knew many of the Kiss 108 team from the 80s. Great people, great station, lots of fun. Sonny Joe and Vinnie Peruzzi are no longer with us. RIP Lisa.
One word, fishy
Cigarettes.
They cause cancer and heart disease.
Smoking was rampant in workplaces until the 1990s.
Note as well that this particular person has very few close relatives still alive?
Taken too soon
Henning was 73 and Curtis was 74 when they died. :rolleyes
add George Burns, Bob Hope, Storm Thurmond
Tony Bennet...oh wait
Wise up, huh?
**Sunny Jo and Parenteau lived risky, alternative lifestyles**
Both of their deaths had nothing to do with "alternative lifestyle"....
Lisa
To those who are curious of what Lisa looked like, do NOT do a Google Image search while at work.
Just in case anyone is confused
That's a different Lisa Lipps, not the one from Kiss 108
memories of lisa lips
Fond memory of Liza Lips' humor, back in the 80 ies when rabbit fur jackets were all the rage, On air Mattie grieving the loss of his pet rabbit (Mr Bun Bun??) says he knows that his pet is now in a better place........Lisa Lips chimes in "Yea either that or a rack at Tello's" ....dead silence then commercial break. I spit out my coffee laughing.
Ouch!
59 is an awfully young age to kick to bucket, especially nowadays! I occasionally listened to KISS, and am sorry to hear of her passing.
I think that a lot of Boston DJ's do die quite young. Dale Dorman, I think, was another example.
Dale
Dale was 71.
