I think I live in the only frigging town in Massachusetts without a Dunkin' Donuts. Nearest one is about a half hour away... It's bullshit. Most people around here call it Dunkin' Donuts, though... no fun nicknames.

Dunkin's. Or, simply "Get coffee."I heard that their coffee is so tasty because they spray sucrose on the beans."I'll have a medium regular and a jelly stick."

Here in Newton, we say Dunkins, Dunkin Donuts and occaisionally "Dunkie Donie." We've got 9 DD's now in Newton. I think only Boston and possibly Quincy have more than Newton.

I grew up in Boston. Hyde Park. People say Dunkies all the time. Kinda like Cumbies. "Let go to Dunkies, and get a wicked good coffee. Then I gotta go to Cumbies and pick up some Marlboro's and Play Megabucks."

Here in Jersey it's always been Dunkin Donuts. But I lived in Lemisstah (Leominster) for 4 years and there it was D & D, coffee, or Dunkies. My usual? A small lite & sweet and an apple crumb donut.

In Brighton, I'd hear people call it "Dunkies," but most people called it by the full name, "Dunkin Donuts." My New Jersey-born wife, though, thinks I pronounce the second word strangely. Coming out of my mouth it rhymes with "own-its"..."Dunkin DOUGH-nits."By the way, when friends of mine from here in NJ come back from a first-time Boston visit, they always remark about the huge number of Dunkin Donuts places they saw there. That's Boston for ya.

I had friends visiting from Pennsylvania once and they got lost on the way up here and ended up in Chinatown so my roommate offered to give them directions. They couldn't tell what street they were are so they decided to use landmarks and promptly told her they were at the "Dunkin' Donuts" to which my roommmate replied, "Um, you have to choose another landmark." (Despite the fact we knew which Dunkin' Donuts they were at obviously.)

I moved from Nashua to Los Angeles a few months ago. There's no Dunks, anywhere! I have my mom mail me some, and the cups too. I've had East Coasters come up to me and ask where I found a Dunks, and they're sad when I tell them I had it mailed.

I'm from Nebraska and I came up to Boston or Bawstin as You call it in July and I had Dunkin Donuts for the first time and liked their Coffee and Donuts alot. I wish they have Dunkin Donuts in Nebraska especially the Omaha area if You guys know the Omaha, Nebraska area. So for the Pronouciation, I thought that it was just Dunkin Donuts but I was wrong. My Uncle who lives in Quincy (which is Quin-c) Said Dunkies, and I was Confused when he said "Dunkies". It may be just me because I'm from Omaha, but its supposed to be just Dunkin Donuts. Well, I grew up outside of Gardner and we never got a DD until after I moved from the area, now Gardner has 3 of them. We had Mr. Donuts, which to us was just as good and always packed when I went. The closest DDs was in Fitchburg, but who the hell wants to drive all that way just for coffee. Mr. Donuts had great coffee and the best donut holes!I live in colorado now and all there is here are Krispy Kremes, which are so overrated. You can actually feel the fat attaching to your body just driving by the place.

I took my mom to Boston on a research trip for a series of books I'm writing to be set in Boston. We could not believe the number of Dunkin' Donuts every block. We have a few here in Arizona, not too many. But it was too funny how they're *everywhere.* Someone in Boston told us that it's because DD started in Boston--it's the DD HQ from what we were told.

It's Dunkies in brockton and most of the cape. For anyone missing a dunkies, try Tim Horton's, canadian donut company... almost as good. A lot better than that K.K. crap.

In eastern CT where I grew up, my friends and family all call it "Dunky Do's", pronounced like 'doze'.As in "I stop at Dunky Do's every day before work to get a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant"Oh yum.

I grew up in Dot and always called it Dunkin Donuts....never heard of Dunkies or Dunks....but then again I've been gone a long time. When I lived in Bermuda I used to bring 2 doz. donuts back there after visiting my family in Boston. Same thing when I lived on Nantucket....those in the know could smell them a mile away and I'd have to stash a dozen for me and "share" the others. I now live in Maui and there are no Dunkin Donuts here either! Damn! I would die for a jelly crullah or a honey dipped donut any day of the week. There is a KK here, but it is pure crap, no taste or substance to those things at all!

I lived in Mayned, Marlbro, Hudson & Newton, Mass. for most of my life. I've heard it called Dunks, Dunkies, Dunkins & Dunkin Donuts, but no matter what, no matter where, even here in FL, their coffee is still the best!

Based on this thread, we're going to have to physically map out what it's called by location. Here in Connecticut, it is always, always Dunkies/Dunky's.

And yes, it's DOUGH-nits, not dough-nuts. Dough-nuts is the classic giveaway of a leafer (leaf-peeping tourist, usually from Jersey or the City).
