Will a record fall today?
By adamg on Tue, 03/14/2017 - 9:07am
No, we probably won't break any snowfall amounts, but could we break the record for the most number of TV reporters crammed onto a single screen?
John Zaremba captured this "8-box" on WHDH this morning. Who can top that? And will any of our local stations approach the 24-box an Atlanta station managed in 2014? Good luck, we're all counting on you.
UPDATE: Channel 7 ramps it up to 11, but channel 5 goes "in your face!" and cranks it up to 12. Channel 7 then responds! See down in the comments.

Nor'Eastah
Good gale coming from the North-East over at castle island this morning.
Also caught this convoy fueling up with snacks and coffee at L and Broadway.

Maybe a record for live shots
Maybe a record if all 8 were live shots. According to the news director of the Atlanta station, not all of the (actually) 25 shots of reporters were live at the time the box was aired; some of them did the reports before the actual newcast (a couple of them looked to be done early or late in the darkness) while the rest are shown in daylight.
This was for the "crippling" snowstorm with a couple or so inches of snow that fell in Atlanta in 2014, stranding children in schools and motorists on the highways.
...WHDH just showed 11 reporters leading the 10AM newscast so forget the 8.
NOT TO PANIC!!
I repeat, do not panic.
Pornhub to the rescue:

Oh, and when I was a kid it was 'noth eastah'. Two words, the 'th' was pronounced 'th' not 'r'.
Just sayin. Well, time to go out and play.
Nor'easter Blowin Out of the Sou'west
I don't get this "nor'easter" business either. It's trite. Nobody talks that way. Nobody says they go to "Nor'eastern University", for example. I do remember when meteorologists said plain old "northeaster". But that's back when news was more newslike.
NBC Boston can only turn it up to 5
Have we come to this?
Am I that old? Growing up we would look out the window to see it snow, maybe venture out and get wet. Now we sit with shades pulled, eight loaves of bread and two cases of bottled water, watching highly paid pretty-faces tell us how cold and snowy it is. Where have you gone, Don Kent? Boston turns its lonely eyes to you.
I blame Shelby Scott...
Once they put her out there in a storm, the powers-that-be smelled money and realized that viewers actually ENJOYED watching this once-respected journalist get blown and battered around in the wind. In fact, they looked forward to it. Hence, hard news be damned, the age of weather-as-entertainment began.
New unit of snow measurement
Uh oh
A couple more apples and Smurfs are going to have to watch out!
My preferred unit of measurement
will always be the ol' PeteBouchard.
7 up to 11
Whiteout
Are they all white because it's snow coverage, or because it's Boston?
"I'll take Paul Lynde to block..."
Not sure if anyone younger than 35 will Get The Reference.
Saw the 11 box too!
Then channel cut to four newspeople in the studio discussing the storm, then cut to the weatherman, who actually was doing the weather, but Baker's press conference cut him off. Just insanity.

What is the point
Of these meme?
Your move, Channel 7
That Rhondella Richardson
That Rhondella Richardson live shot was insane. A stream of consciousness about emergency vehicles, bungee cords, duct tape, a shopping list for the next storm...
Channel 7 ties it up!
Channel 5 may have just landed a decisive blow
A 16-box display.
