Unless MA law has a wrinkle I don't know, the Odin case well could be be dismissed. This is because the MA Supreme Court has yet to rule in that case, and a state court conviction is not final until a defendant exhausts all his automatic appellate rights within the state system.

Hope I am wrong but does leave us with something to ponder.

That's not how appeals work at all...I'm guessing you probably know that though.

Of course, it shouldn't take a Dookhan story to remind you that the system makes mistakes and we'd rather a hundred guilty men go free than have an innocent man in jail. Why would he wait until after he was ACQUITTED for the two additional murders, with a new, successful, and very talented lawyer who could maybe help him appeal his current sentence and get him out of the slammer? Friend didn't think there'd be anything to that, which I agreed with. For what it's worth the guy mentioned Hernandez being extorted by some gang members in CT and that being the main reason he was still in the life for lack of better term. I'm sure the PCP didn't help either. I also wouldn't be surprised if Hernandez was killed in jail by someone else. Been trying to figure out how a person can hang themselves from a window that's only a few feet off the ground. No pun intended.
