Ambiguous coda to "No Trespassing" signs - is it a warning (i.e., the police're gonna getcha) or a request (i.e., "please, Mr. Policeman, apprehend the miscreants on my lawn")? In fact, it's the latter. Massachusetts state law requires property owners to "post" their property to keep hunters off; so "Police Take Notice" is telling the police that the property is off limits and could they please do something about all those people with rifles or whatever.

Once, I was loitering around a business parking lot, when I saw a sign announcing "Police Take Notice." I ran away like I'd never run before, I was frickin' scared.

Mine was put up to have hidden meaning thats a bit toungue and cheek. Its a Warning TO Police that they can NOT trespass (ie come on my property without a warrant.) Its posted right next to the one that says "Caution: Firearms in Use"Or course that probably means little to those in Boston or the rest of Mass. unlike here in PA where we value the 2nd Amendment and its protection FROM police who break the Law ;-)
