Basically stupid but also with some crazy potential.Someone soft in Dot wasn't just dumb but kind of wacky and would do crazy soft.My friend was hammered and acting up at his house once and his father just shook his head and said, "You're soft as puppy shit."Pretty much sums up the usage.

"Soft" also meant not quite mentally adequate, or, ya know, stupid. "You want to drive to the squayah Now? Whattayou, soft?"
