James D. spotted the Italian tall ship Amerigo Vespucci off Winthrop this morning.
Not long after, Lily D. got a closer look at the ship, which is in Boston through the 22nd:

That ship reminds me of the final scene of "The Goonies"
Having another sleepover with the Constitution?

When I took my then 2 and 4 year olds to see the tall ships in 2000, they noticed that the Constitution had been moved up to accommodate the Vespucci. They declared it a sleepover as we came over from Lovejoy Wharf.
I still have a picture of my younger guy standing in a coil of ropes from the Vespucci, said ropes being bigger around than he was. We will have to pay a visit.
An even closer view

Nor a dollar short - gorgeous ship. ed. - was scheduled to arrive the 18th - but I thought that was a Monday when I read the announcement - my bad.
Was surprised at the 7/22 departure - isn't the Constitution coming out of drydock 7/23 - thought they'd be in town for that.
Does look like Colombia's Gloria will be here - another beautiful ship.
Must be so n last place
